Elizabeth Spencer
Elizabeth Spencer is a Napa Valley winery founded by a couple who have each enjoyed long, successful careers in the wine industry, and who share a love and respect for wine. Elizabeth Pressler and Spencer Graham began enjoying wine together in 1992, making wine together in 1997, established a bonded winery together in 1998 and began selling their wine together in 2000. Elizabeth and Spencer are “partners in life and partners in wine”. Their brand is built on the importance of strong relationships - starting with their own dynamic personal and professional bond. The connection extends to their network of growers, talented team of employees, distributors and brokers across the country; and, through these relationships, to the owners and buyers at restaurants and retail shops, to the winery’s direct customers and to wine club members.
Spencer is the Director of Winemaking and heads up a talented winemaking team that includes winemaker Sarah Vandendriessche and winemaking advisor, Robbie Meyer. Elizabeth oversees Marketing and serves as Creative Director. Together, Elizabeth and Spencer manage daily operations along with General Manager Brian Kelleher
Philosophy
Elizabeth and Spencer share a belief that wine should be delicious, inviting and representative of its place of origin. Balanced, elegant, and approachable, their wines are made from grapes grown in Northern California’s finest wine regions, focusing on Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast and Mendocino. Exceptional grapes are acquired from the same select growers each year to assure a sustainable continuity of quality. Strong, ongoing relationships based on a mutual high regard and respect have been forged with these
premiere grape growers who farm to shared exacting standards. Grapes are vinified in small lots, using traditional hands-on methods, to ensure the greatest purity of flavor.
