Pink Agua

Wine and comedy share one defining parallel: the immediacy and authenticity of the audience’s reaction. You know whether a joke is funny or wine tastes good immediately. Pink Agua by José Rosé was born out of a passion for comedy that, by hilarious and perhaps fated circumstances, led to an appreciation of wine. Today, Pink Agua is a small yet ethnically diverse, family-owned company behind a light, crisp rosé and the absurd, comedic world of José Rosé. The wine world has never seen a pairing this refreshing or funny.
Pink Agua began with the creation of José Rosé. A man of mystery and taste, José Rosé lives in an alternate reality of luxury where he’s become the official face of rosé and made it the drink of a new generation.
Captivated by this character, Rosenberg and Marquez spent months shooting José Rosé sketches, building his ridiculous world one rosé-filled glass at a time. Rosenberg then showed the footage to an entertainment industry friend and eventual Pink Agua investor. They believed José Rosé was perfect for a rosé marketing campaign and set up a meeting with WME agency. 24 hours later, Rosenberg was pitching a sketch to market rosé, a drink he knew almost nothing about. When he left the meeting, however, he was convinced that he needed to build a company around the world of José Rosé.
Like the best comedians, Rosenberg learned on the fly. He met with countless California vineyards while educating himself about the wine-making process. To craft a light, vibrant rosé that was as drinkable from breakfast to bedtime, Rosenberg and his co-founders ultimately partnered with family-owned Le Vigne Winery in Paso Robles.
Pink Agua by José Rosé launched in March of 2020 and now ships to over 20 states. Undeterred by the pandemic, Pink Agua employed several novel digital marketing strategies. Where other wine companies play it safe and rarely market to millennials, Pink Agua speaks directly to this generation of wine drinkers. You don’t have to be a sommelier to enjoy Pink Agua or a comedian to get José Rosé. After one sip and one Instagram video, you know. You’re a rosé drinker now, laughing as you swirl your glass with your pinky out.
