The Character

Tasting Notes The Chardonnay del Merlo is characterized by a brilliant pale yellow color and a fresh, fragrant and typically fruity scent. Hints of varieties of golden apple are easily recognizable. The taste is inviting, with an agreeable acidic tone that exudes pleasantness.

The Story

Bosco del Merlo has crafted a comprehensive and worthwhile clonal selection process for its international varieties, the chardonnay responding very well. These efforts make it feel right at home, the terroir and culture of Annone Veneto instilled in the wine. 'Nicopeja', or "bearer of victory" refers to the Madonna Nicopeia statue in the Basilica San marco in Venice.

""Bosco del Merlo"" refers to the oak forests that once covered the area, so named by local topographers. The brand was founded in 1977 by siblings Carlo, Lucia, and Roberta Paladin with the mission of modernity and environmental conservation. In collaboration with the Instituto Sperimentale per la Viticoltura di Conegliano, they implemented a modern zoning technique to work the vineyard piece by piece.
