The Story
From the sixth-generation Heringer family at Pintail Ranch in Clarksburg, CA, this skin-contact Pinot Gris is a true expression of place and process. Grown along the Sacramento River on CCOF transition-certified land, the grapes come from a site known for its ecological farming methods—cover cropping, beneficial insect release, and dry farming.
Fermented on the skins for 10 days and aged in neutral barrel for 9 months, this orange wine walks the line between bright and textured. Unfined and unfiltered, it opens with lifted floral aromatics, orange oil, and a touch of fall spice. On the palate, citrus zest—think Meyer lemon and grapefruit—leads the way before giving in to a whisper of tannin that adds structure without weight.
Serve it chilled or at cellar temp, and pair it with everything from roasted root vegetables to crispy-skinned fish. A refreshing, low-ABV (9.5%) sip for curious palates and orange wine fans alike.
