The Character

Tasting Notes At first glance, you will be mesmerized by the deep, dark crimson color of this full bodied wine. Inhale the aromas of ripe blueberries, blackberry pie, cassis and cinnamon stick. The mouth feel is rich and full of flavors of ripe blackberries, fresh dark plums, bing cherries and blueberries. Am I crazy or is this like biting into a graham cracker spread with a thick layer of blackberry jam?? I dunno, you decide. The smooth, velvety tannins on the finish will leave you “enchanted” and longing for more after every sip.

The Story

The “Sea Enchantress” is the second bottling of Peirano Estate Vineyards’ new “The Artist Series” and follows the HUGE success of our first bottling - “Illusion”. This wine continues the “new school” and “old school” winemaking styles of father & daughter.

Brand Story

In 1992, Lance Randolph, the 4th generation of Peirano to farm the 300 acre estate, began making Peirano wine simply for himself and to prove Lodi could produce desirable wines. After considerable praise, he started bottling and selling Peirano wine using his estate grown grapes. Since then, Peirano has won numerous awards for producing wine using many of the old techniques valued by Giacomo Peirano. The history of Peirano Estate Vineyards is a tale deeply rooted in Lodi history and the importance is felt by every member of the Peirano family. Over the years, the vineyards have grown to not only include the same naturally rooted, head trained Old Vine Zinfandel imported to the United States by Lance’s great grandfather, but many other varieties as well.
