The Story
DROMOS, our SuperTuscan “top” wine, takes its name from the grand entrance in the monumental buildings of the Etruscans, the ancient inhabitants of Maremma. The long corridor crossing the underground cellar represented by the vertical cut on the label stands for Francesco journey to this place. His aim is to create a Bordeaux blend with the local touch of Sangiovese and Alicante Bouchet.

About Poggio Verrano
Brand Story
Francesco, 4th generation of the well-known Bolla wine clan, left the Bolla winery in 2000 to start from scratch his own Tuscan wine project. With decades of experience under his belt he turned his focus to the Maremma along the Tuscan Coast which benefits from the real Mediterranean climate. The aim is to produce SuperTuscan reds with a sense of place by blending the Bordeaux varietals with the indigenous Sangiovese and Alicante. Our artisanal philosophy is to make age-worthy complex and elegant wines with smooth tannins, aged longer in the fully underground gravity flow cellar. Francesco enlisted his daughter Valentina, a Sommelier & DipWSET, as PoggioVerrano spokesperson.Together, father & daughter are discovering the full potential of this "New Frontier" of Italian wine terroirs.
