TAIT Wines is a family owned winery located in the famous Barossa Valley, in South Australia. The TAIT name has been involved in the wine industry for more than 100 years, practicing the art of cooperage.

Giovanni TAIT migrated from Italy in the late 1950’s to establish a better life for his family. He worked as a cooper while maintaining his heritage of good food and wine. Building a new life for his family in Australia was tough but his desire to establish his own winery was always in his thoughts. It was not until the late 90’s that this became reality, establishing TAIT Wines at Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley. TAIT Wines is now owned and run by Bruno, his family and Bruno’s brother Michael.

Central to The TAIT family winemaking philosophy is the use of the traditional winemaking methods including open fermentation, 100% Basket Pressing and barrel maturation.

While our focus is on the production and making the best wine we can, we can’t do all this alone. We need to put our trust and faith in people who are focused and passionate about selling and marketing our product. We are not a factory or corporation with no story or soul. We are a family owned and run business. Being part of the TAIT family allows you to sell not only a bottle of wine, it allows you to sell tradition, history and heritage.

The TAIT brand is not new to the US wine market. Since its introduction in the late 1990’s the TAIT brand has consistently scored 90 plus points in the “The Wine Advocate”. It has also achieved high recognition in Wine Spectator magazine.
The key to its success is delivering high quality wine at great price points.

Philosophy

At TAIT family Wines, our philosophy is based around quality and doing the best for our customers and family. Sharing great food and wine, sharing a great story and a strong work ethic is central to our heritage.

Making wine that displays those ideals is how we honor the sacrifices our parents made. Our wines are true to our winemaking style, they exceed the quality expected for their price point.

Our winemaking style is to produce hand crafted wines that are rich in color, aroma and flavor. It is our philosophy that all quality wine starts in the vineyard. The Barossa fruit we use is always very low yielding and produces highly concentrated flavors and aromas.

All of our wines are hand crafted using traditional winemaking methods including open fermentation, extended maceration and Basket Pressing. To ensure quality and consistency, all wine is produced and matured on site. We feel our wines display our uncompromising pursuit of excellence.

Biography

Bruno Tait is the owner and winemaker at TAIT Family Winery. He is passionate about his wine and honoring his style of big, rich and fruity wines. Bruno is an example of perseverance, persistence and wanting to achieve the highest standards for every wine he puts under the TAIT Family Winery label. It is testament to Bruno that his wines have achieved the highest of accolades from the World’s foremost Wine Journals – “The Wine Advocate” and “The Wine Spectator”.
