Welcome, Rowland Cellars + Coit Spirits!

Now Available in California

Gerald Rowland’s (pictured right) ancestors first put the Ramspeck family crest on their wine in 1537. Four and a half centuries later, Gerry continued his family legacy, developing a signature style of winemaking that combines the best of the old and new world styles. The Ramspeck label was the first offering of his company now known as Rowland Cellars. In 2018, Gerry and his wife Linda Rowland took their winemaking prowess, combined with their love of gin, and established Coit Spirits. Image credit: Margaret Pattillo

Gerry believes great wine begins on the vine, and stewardship begins in the vineyard, where fruit aromas and flavors are a unique result of that season upon the land. He uses both modern and centuries-old techniques to ensure that the fruit reflects the soil and microclimate. The vineyards are managed to observe organic farming processes and be sustainably farmed. Wild yeast from the vineyard is used to capture the mouthfeel provided by the fruit. He applies the same hands-on, artisanal approach to his spirits. Coit Spirits and ready-to-drink canned cocktails are designed like wine, with entry, mid-palate, and finish, having body & length.
Long-time Vintners, Lovers of Spirits
  • Rowland Cellars: Serendipity offers two labels produced by Rowland Cellars, Ramspeck and Cenay.
    • RamspeckThe first label by Rowland Cellars, an homage to the wines produced by Gerald’s ancestors in 1537.
    • Cenay: Introduced in 1997 an attribute to Linda’s Rowland’s heritage. Her ancestors purveyed the accoutrements of the good life during the California Gold Rush days. Cenay continues that tradition, offering exceptional wines of the finest quality.
  • Coit Spirits: Serendipity carries Coit Spirits Distilled Tea Gins, Indiana Straight Bourbon Whiskey, and their lineup of ready-to-drink canned cocktails.
    • Spirits: Coit is the only US distiller with a product line using Distilled Tea Gins as a medium – a contemporary Gin that is notoriously difficult to make. Tea Gins are distilled with tea leaf as the primary botanical rather than juniper.
    • Canned Cocktails: Mixed with their award-winning Cape Gin, these canned cocktails are ready-to-drink and named after early San Francisco settlements.
