Winemaking The Sauvignon Blanc was harvested after a beautiful warm Summer on August 21st and 22nd 2021. Immediately after picking was whole cluster pressed. The juice was transferred to a stainless steal tank where the fermentation took place. At the conclusion of fermentation the wine was gently racked to used French Oak barrels where it was aged for 4 months. The Cold Creek Viognier was barrel fermented and barrel aged.

Tasting Notes The 2021 Titus Sauvignon Blanc displays great purity and brightness. The wine’s aromas are fresh and lively with impressions of lemon-lime, Bartlett pear, kiwi, kumquat, and blooming citrus. Inviting and smooth as it glides along the palate the wine is driven by flavors of citrus zest, pippin apple, fruit cocktail, and lemon tart. The crisp finish is clean and bright lingering with plumeria and stone fruit tones.

The Story
Near record low rainfall accumulations during the winter of 2022 brought on drought-like conditions that encouraged bud break and an early start to the growing season. Even, sunny weather throughout the Spring allowed vine to grow on schedule and flowering occurred unabated with balanced berry set happening across all varieties. June and July were warm with expected heat spells that proceeded into veraison in late July and early August. A smaller than typical crop and the heat of late Summer allowed the vineyards to develop quickly leading to concentrated and bright fruit flavors in our Sauvignon Blanc. Harvest for the Sauvignon Blanc occurred during the month of August.

Titus Vineyards is a family owned 50-acre vineyard and winery located in the heart of the St. Helena AVA at the base of Howell Mountain along the Silverado Trail in Napa Valley. In the last half-century, some of the Valley's finest wines, including Beaulieu Vineyards, Cuvaison and Charles Krug have originated from our historic vineyards. The documented history of the property extends back to 1841 and includes General Mariano Vallejo, Dr. Edward Bale, Charles Krug, and Eli York, just to name a few.
