Tenuta Ghiaccio Forte

Tenuta Ghiaccio Forte is the fruit of Sandro and Filippo Chia’s desire to share their knowledge of viticulture in Maremma, giving life to wines that are tightly bound to their territory of origin.
The adventure began in 1999 when different types of Sangiovese, Petit Verdot and Syrah were planted in one of the most uncontaminated and spectacular locations in the surroundings of Grosseto: the hill of Ghiaccio Forte, a crossroads of history and culture since the time of the Etruscans who built their walled city here.
Following years of experimentation and rigorous selection in the vineyard, Tenuta Ghiaccio Forte has identified a path of varietal purity that is embodied by two iconic labels that stand out for their elegance and expressiveness: Ghiaccio Forte, Morellino Scansano DOCG made from 100% Sangiovese, and Ripaforte, Toscana IGT exclusively made from Petit Verdot.
