HER is the first label from Adama Wines from South Africa, a majority Black-owned company that is operated and led by women of color. At the helm is Praisy Dlamini, with Natasha Williams as consulting winemaker. The well-priced and value-driven lineup includes a vibrant Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, and Shiraz. HER is ethically produced (WIETA-certified: Wine Industry Ethical Trade Association). Grapes are sustainably farmed.
Bosman Adama and Adama Wines have a heart for the community and have had an amazing developmental impact on their surrounding communities through various projects. The Adama Foundation Trust, owned by the workers of Bosman Adama, was established in 2013 with the main goal of social and economic development of all farm workers, their families and the community of Bovlei in Wellington. The Trust is the sole beneficiary of all Fairtrade premiums generated on Bosman Adama Fairtrade wine sales.
Absolutely think we need to add a brand by WOC to our portfolio, S African wines are getting a lot of interest right now and these are at an accessible price point
Love that these wines reflect their price point and that they’re SO consumer friendly. I also love that the bright labels visually break wine label standards. Supporting WOC is a MUST.
We should put into chain program pitches and hopefully get a taker.
Think that this brand should be looked at in Chains 1st, however, there is no reason that on-prem won’t support. Only had access to the shiraz, would really like to review the chenin and SB wines as well
