Scribe Winery, Sonoma Valley

Scribe is a winery estate founded and run by brothers Andrew and Adam Mariani, 4th generation California farmers. They planted the estate vineyard within the Sonoma Valley AVA, east of Sonoma town, and at the southern foot of the Mayacama Mtns. The Estate itself consist of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sylvaner, Mission Grape (and more), with plantings beginning in 2007. The land itself has history to the 1850's, including the 'Hacienda' building as the nexus of the winery and it's hospitality center (including kitchen and lodging). The farming and winemaking is minimalist, sustainable (no herbicides) and total production between wholesale and DTC wines is around 40,000cs a year. A Napa Valley, Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon from a site they manage to the north is also part of the portfolio.

Obvious quality, decently priced. If we’re able to retain current customers, seems to make sense. Otherwise, this is a category we continually struggle with.
