Hacienda Lopez De Haro
Hacienda López de Haro is the Rioja winery of the Vintae Wine Company and its flagship is the collection of wines with which they pay homage to the authentic essence of their land, Rioja. The place chosen to bring this project to life and to settle the winery could be none other than San Vicente de la Sonsierra, the heart of La Rioja Alta and the area where the best old Tempranillo vineyards are located, thanks to its special climatic characteristics, its orography and its soils.
Philosophy
López de Haro wines are elegant, complex and aromatic and have become the new classics of Rioja. Because, according to the winery, to be a classic it is not necessary to be hundreds of years old, nor come from high lineage, but rather to breathe the magic of something well done, made with care and passion. One of the characteristics of Vintae as a company is its sociability, expressed in a natural, optimistic and absolute communication strategy. It is about persuasion based on the deep-felt emotion for everything that surrounds its wine world, more than just on the basis of reason. A style that is reflected in the very careful image of each of its wines and brands.
Biography
Under the management of its founder, Ricardo Arambarri, Hacienda López de Haro has an oenologist, Octavio Madurga and a technical director, Raúl Acha. Raul was brought up among vineyards in his hometown, Cárdenas (Rioja Alta), coming from a family who has been dedicated to viticulture for generations. He defends that a good wine is made in the vineyard, and therefore the main motto of both the field team and the winery team is respect for the raw material with which their wines are made.
It is not strange that in San Vicente de la Sonsierra the grape has been cultivated since time immemorial, because its geographical and climatic conditions are perfect for the vine. It is located under the Sierra de Cantabria, at the foot of Mount Toloño, which shelters it from the rains of the Bay of Biscay, but at the same time refreshes with its winds (the Cierzo) every summer afternoon. This is how perfect ventilation of the bunches is produced, while generating the freshness of the Atlantic in the grape, an unmistakable symbol of the DNA of the wines in this area.
