In an industry dominated by mass-produced mega-brands, Ransom Farm & Distillery has defined craft spirits for nearly three decades, carefully producing our whiskeys, gins and other products by hand, without the use of computers or robots.

• We have always done one thing: we make a pretty good product, and we sell it for a pretty good price
• Located Sheridan, Oregon, about 90 minutes southwest of Portland, nearly to the coast
• We farm 40 acres of cereal grains, grapes, orchard and herb beds
• Everything we grow we also mill, mash and ferment and distill in our direct fire pot still
• We are ‘dry farmers’ collecting up to 50,000 gallons of Oregon pure rainwater every year to craft our spirits.
• We are solar-powered, selling power back to the grid every year.

At Ransom Spirits, we believe that great spirits begin with authenticity, intention, and a deep respect for tradition. Our philosophy is rooted in the conviction that the best craft is born from understanding the past and reimagining it for today.
We honor classic distilling methods—not for nostalgia, but because they offer depth, integrity, and character that modern shortcuts can’t replicate. From fermenting organic grains and botanicals to hand-distilling in small copper pot stills, we maintain complete control from grain to glass to ensure every drop reflects our values.
But Ransom is not just about looking back—we’re equally driven by experimentation and curiosity. Whether reviving forgotten styles like Old Tom Gin, or pushing the boundaries with innovative hybrids, we aim to create spirits that are not only finely crafted but thought-provoking and unique.

Biography
Founded in 1997 in Oregon, Ransom Spirits emerged as a trailblazer in the American craft spirits movement. What began as a passion project has evolved into a celebrated distillery known for its dedication to reviving forgotten traditions and forging new paths in distillation.
Ransom’s name reflects its mission—to “ransom” the art of craft from industrial production. From day one, the team set out to create spirits with soul: organically farmed ingredients, grain-to-glass control, and a relentless pursuit of quality over quantity. Every step of the process—from growing grains to blending and bottling—is handled with care on their estate in the Cascade foothills.
Best known for producing one of America’s first Old Tom-style gins, Ransom also crafts acclaimed whiskeys, vermouths, brandies, and vodkas. Their innovative style and commitment to sustainability have earned them a place at the table of top bartenders, connoisseurs, and curious drinkers alike.
Today, Ransom continues to thrive as a fiercely independent, small-batch distillery with a big heart—where every bottle tells a story of history, innovation, and Oregon-grown spirit.
