Santiago Ruiz
Santiago Ruiz's maternal grandfather was one of the first to elaborate and label wines in Galicia, founding his own winery in 1860. Upon retiring at the age of 70, Santiago Ruiz devoted to his true vocation following his ancestor’s tradition. In 1984 he acquired the first stainless steel tanks in the region in order to modernize the winery, a 17th century building now a house-museum. The new winery, with the most advanced technology was built in the middle of the 94 acres vineyard in 2007.
Philosophy
Love and care in vine growing and winemaking, exclusivity and limited production, maintaining stringency in the personalised attention and hand selection of the bunches of grapes from our own vineyard.
