In partnership with Serendipity, Cantina Orsogna is currently available in Texas, California and National Markets

In the heart of Italy’s Abruzzo region, nestled at the foot of the Majella National Park, lies Cantina Orsogna—a cooperative winery that has been a pioneer in sustainable viticulture since the late 1980s. With over 1,200 hectares of vineyards, 85% of which are certified organic, and 35% practicing biodynamic farming under Demeter certification, Cantina Orsogna stands as a testament to environmentally conscious winemaking. This commitment to sustainability has earned them recognition as the largest Demeter-certified biodynamic grape producer globally, a title awarded at the 2018 International Biodynamic Wine Conference in San Francisco.

Led by oenologist Camillo Zulli since 1995, the winery operates as a cooperative of 500 growers who share a philosophy that extends beyond certifications. Their dedication to the environment is evident in their participation in initiatives like WWF’s SOS Lupo and Euro Turtles, aiming to protect native wildlife. The winery’s portfolio includes varietals such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Malvasia, Chardonnay, Moscato, Passerina, Cococciola, and Pecorino, with 70% of their 1.5 million annual bottle production exported to over 30 countries.

As Earth Month encourages us to reflect on our environmental impact, Cantina Orsogna offers an opportunity to support a winery where sustainability is a way of life. Their wines not only embody the rich terroir of Abruzzo but also tell a story of community, tradition, and a deep respect for nature. By choosing Cantina Orsogna, wine buyers can offer their customers more than just a bottle of wine—they can offer a taste of a better future. This spring, here are three essential bottles from Cantina Orsogna to kick-start your Earth month program:

Spiritus Terrae Trebbiano
Spiritus Terrae Trebbiano

Spiritus Terrae Trebbiano is a quiet revelation—an expression of place, purpose, and purity. Grown organically and biodynamically in the mountain-shadowed soils of Abruzzo, this Trebbiano is anything but ordinary. It opens with delicate notes of citrus blossom and golden apple, grounded by a gentle minerality that speaks to the vineyard’s elevation and care. No synthetic inputs. No shortcuts. Just a true-to-nature wine crafted with intention, guided by the rhythms of the earth. Spiritus Terrae—“spirit of the earth”—is more than a name; it’s a promise in every pour.

Lunaria Costa di Moro Montepulciano

Lunaria Costa di Moro Montepulciano is bold by nature—both in flavor and in philosophy. This striking red is fermented with native yeasts and aged partly in oak and partly in cement, allowing the depth of the Montepulciano grape to shine with rustic elegance. It’s rich with notes of dark cherry, cocoa, and wild herbs, yet it carries a softness that makes it incredibly approachable. What sets Costa di Moro apart is its soul: Demeter-certified biodynamic, vegan, and crafted under the lunar calendar, it’s a wine made with cosmic intention and deep respect for the land. Every bottle carries the story of a community that believes great wine begins with living soil—and it shows in every glass.

Lunaria Pinot Grigio Pet Nat
Lunaria Pinot Grigio Pet Nat

Lunaria Pinot Grigio Pet Nat is a joyful, unfiltered burst of spontaneity—vibrant, raw, and refreshingly alive. Made using the ancestral method, this pétillant naturel skips the polish for something far more authentic: gently sparkling with a natural haze, low intervention, and zero added sulfites. It’s a playful, aromatic twist on Pinot Grigio, offering notes of white peach, elderflower, and citrus zest with a soft, cloud-like mousse. Each bottle is hand-labeled and finished with twine, a nod to the artisanal roots and small-lot production that define the Lunaria line. This is the bottle that stands out in a sea of sameness—earthy, expressive, and made to be shared in good company.

This Earth Month, let your wine list do more than delight—it can inspire. With Cantina Orsogna, every bottle you bring in is a conversation starter, a story of resilience, and a tangible commitment to a healthier planet. These wines aren’t just beautiful expressions of Abruzzo’s terroir—they’re proof that sustainability and quality can thrive hand in hand. Whether you’re curating for a retail shelf, restaurant menu, or spring promotion, now is the perfect time to align your program with producers who truly walk the talk. Stock up on Spiritus Terrae Trebbiano, Costa di Moro Montepulciano, and Lunaria Pet Nat, and give your customers the opportunity to raise a glass to something that matters.
