The Story

With its ideal mid Napa Valley location Oakville is just far enough south to benefit from cooling influences of the morning overcast and afternoon breeze off the San Pablo Bay and far enough north to ripen grapes that exhibit deep rich dark fruit characteristics. Oakville is home to some of America’s most iconic wineries. Of the more than 5,000 acres planted, less than 15 acres are Zinfandel making those few produced rare treasures indeed. Oakville is ideally suited to growing Zinfandel with the perfect climate to allow for even ripening, complexity in the wine with balanced acidity and tannins that preserve the wine for years to come.

Welcome to the world of Acre wines! It all started with a one acre vineyard planted by co-founder Dave Becker in 2002. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Mike and Talley Henry purchased the winery from the founders in 2017 and brought on veteran winemaker, Richard Bruno, and together, they are honored to continue the legacy of producing highly acclaimed, handcrafted Acre wines from celebrated family-owned vineyards in the Napa Valley. They produce classic Napa Valley varietals from organically or sustainably farmed vineyards that showcase the unique characteristics of the AVAs from which they source their grapes. They believe that great wine starts in the vineyard and that the partnership between the grower, vineyard manager, and winemaker is essential to what you ultimately taste in the glass.
