The Character
Aromas cherries, raspberries and plums
Mouthfeel Fresh fruit acidity and tannin add structure
Tasting Notes Aromas suggest a warm mélange of cherries, raspberries and plums alongside some toasty whole wheat and a touch of vanilla and some clove/nutmeg notes, hint of pipe tobacco. The entry offers those berry fruit flavors in a texture that seems to build across the mid palate. Fresh fruit acidity and tannin add structure to the juicy fruit flavors in the finish.
The Story
We are a small, family-owned and operated winery producing exquisite wines with our extremely talented winemaker, Celia Welch. During fruit processing we get aunts and uncles in too. We believe that wine is more than just a beverage; it tells a story. It is a place and a time; a snapshot of the vineyards in each vintage. It is truly a labor of love.
Our first vintage was 2002 when we made 46 cases. A few years later, the Keever brand had achieved some moderate recognition, and based on that we decided to build our winery and dig our cave. Keever Vineyards currently produces around 2,000 cases annually.
Each vintage shows its own personality, and Inspirado becomes a creative effort to bring forth that unique play on Bordeaux-style blends which displays the attributes of the growing season in a complex and nuanced way.
