The village of Elenovo is located in the region of Thrace, where the origins of winemaking date back to the cult of Dionysus. It is thought that some native varieties, such as Mavrud, were already grown on the hills of southern Bulgaria more than 5,000 years ago. Edoardo Miroglio became certified organic in 2013, and is considered to be one of the most modern wineries in the country.
