The Story
Skurfberg 2023 is a powerful Chenin Blanc from old vines rooted in decomposed sandstone on the rugged Skurfberg Mountain in Citrusdal. Despite the arid, warm conditions, the site yields wines of remarkable texture and freshness. Whole bunch pressed and fermented naturally in old foudres, the wine rests on lees for 12 months before bottling unfiltered. With firm acidity, layered fruit, and long aging potential, Skurfberg is a benchmark for South African Chenin.
