About True Grit
Producer Story
A sixteen year old boy stowing away aboard a steamer from Italy to California. A temperance movement that led to 13 years of Prohibition. A depression, The Great Depression, that lasted for 10 years from 1929 to 1939, wreaking economic hardship around the world.
A family that refused to let their dream be destroyed, planting vineyards and building a winery by hand without electricity or power tools.
A winery, Parducci Wine Cellars, bonded on August 1, 1933,one of only 70 wineries left in California out of over 350 that existed pre-prohibition. Today, Parducci Wine Cellars is recognized as the longest running winery in Mendocino County and the only winery to survive into modern day.
Together the Parducci family built a legacy, a legacy that we honor today with True Grit wines.
