The results are in! At Serendipity, 2024 marked a year rife with rave wine & spirits reviews from critics world-wide. As we bid a fond farewell to another winning season, we thought it only fitting to commemorate the best and the brightest with our annual brag books. Whether you’re in Texas or California, please join us in looking back on a year that celebrated the extraordinary in every pour.

In the Texas market, wines from Piedmont, Tuscany, and Napa continue to impress with 95+ scores. The Clare Valley gave rise to 2024’s Riesling of the Year, while a Pinot Bianco from Alto Adige took Platinum at the Decanter World Wine Awards. California icons Heidi & Bo Barrett, Rosemary Cakebread, and Merry Edwards lived up to their legacies with some of the highest scores across California. Southern hemisphere wines did not disappoint this year, either. Argentina’s 1st female winemaker, Susana Balbo, made history once again, by becoming the 1st Argentinian woman to be inducted into the esteemed Decanter Hall of Fame! And we’re pleased to see high ranking wines from Chile & Australia newly added to our book. In the non-alcoholic category, Ghia still reigns supreme with new flavors & fizzes to keep up with demand.

Best of 2024:

This year in the California market top performing regions were Napa and Alto Adige, with Pinot Bianco taking center stage. In fact, a Pinot Bianco blend from Cantina Terlano achieved the ever-elusive 100 point rating from James Suckling— proving in the power of the co-op. Hertelendy in Northern California also reached new heights this year, receiving perfect scores from multiple critics for their limited Legend Red (just three barrels were produced!). The CVNE group dominated Top 100 awards for Spain. And this year expanded to include reviews for quintessential wine styles like Cap Classique, German Riesling, and Argentinian Malbec. Gin aficionados will be more than satisfied to see Bareksten’s offerings continue to shine all the way from Norway.
