Cantina Tudernum
Cantina Tudernum, located next to the medieval town of Todi, was established in 1958 by 57 vineyard owners looking to produce and market wine together as a cooperative. It was honest, valuable work that grew to production spanning 650 hectares by 1995. That year, the co-op recognized the rarity and potential of Todi (and Greater Umbria), with hillside sun and the nurturing Tiber River. They issued a redevelopment plan that focused on downsizing production (now 400 hectares) and increasing quality with soft pressing tech, processing equipment, and a focus on native Italian varietals, especially the brilliantly rare ones of Umbria.
