Serendipity Loves

We’re traveling back in time this month, revisiting some of the earliest partnerships that made Serendipity what it is today! Re-explore these Serendipity classics:

Château Goudichaud

Château Goudichaud is located on the banks of Dordogne river, close to the renowned appellations of Saint Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac. Belonging to the Glotin’s Family, the wine estate is part of the best properties in the appellation both for the quality of the wines and the high production capacity. Serendipity has been partnered with Goudichaud since 2004!

Italo Cescon

The Italo Cescon wine growing and producing company was established in 1957, not so far from Treviso, by its brave founder Italo Cescon. Today it is managed with the same passion and love by his children Gloria, Graziella and Domenico, together with mummy Chiara.

Viticcio

Viticcio was born when the family acquired an estate in Greve, in Chianti in 1964. This was to be an extension of their passion for Chianti Classico wines, something the family considered to have limitless potential and an homage to the terroir it comes from. The winery has grown to encompass 120 hectares of estate-owned land among the hills of Chianti Classico and Maremma. Serendipity has been partnered with Viticcio for 5 years!

From the Blog: Francesca Paladin

Speaking of old loves, Serendipity’s partnership with the Casa Paladin group goes back over a decade! Over the years we’ve watched them thrive and recently had the chance to catch up with their proprietor (and 3rd generation descendant), Francesca Paladin. We share her insights into the Casa Paladin group, and dig a little deeper into the stories behind their sparkling (red) Raboso and unrivaled herbal liqueur, Agricanto. READ HERE

Where are you from & what brought you to the wine industry?

I grew up on the east coast but have lived in California for the past few decades, so the west coast is definitely my home. My dad made wine in our basement when I was a kid, and I think the wine bug just stayed dormant inside me for a while. After graduating from college, I began tasting and reading about wine, and the more I read and tasted the more fascinated I became. This fascination pushed me to complete the levels of the WSET, and I earned my Level 4 Diploma in 2016.

What’s your favorite wine in our book?

The wines from Los Bermejos located on the Canary Islands simply blew me away. They were the first wines I ever tasted from the Canary Islands, and they are stunning.

Where are you from & what brought you to the wine industry?

I am a mountain mama from the country roads of WV. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from West Virginia Wesleyan College where I attended on art and track scholarships. I have been making a living for almost a decade working in food, hospitality, art education, marketing, and senior life enrichment in Nevada County. It is due to the culmination of all these experiences and my upbringing that I am enthusiastic to be part of an exceptional company like Serendipity.

What’s your favorite wine in our book?

Though I am new to our portfolio, my favorite wines are currently Westside Crossing Chardonnay and Lapis Luna Cabernet Sauvignon—just superb!
