The wine is produced from vineyards located in the northern part of Châteauneuf du Pape and the vines are grown using organic methods. This cuvee will express year after year a great power and aromatic complexity. The wine gets its name from the soil type. Miocene-era marine molasse covered by alpine alluvium.
