About Dom Tremblay
Producer Story
Gérard Tremblay is the 5th generation owner of this domaine in Chablis. Under his ownership, the property has grown from 30 acres to 100 acres, 30 acres being first cru and Grand Cru sites. Gerard is very passionate and a purist. He uses “Lutte raisonnée” sustainable viticulture and takes a lot of care in plowing to preserve the Terroir. This gives the Chardonnay a special, vibrant personality due to the sub soil (Kimmeridgian limestone/fossilized shells). Gerard’s son, Vincent, is now beginning to take over winemaking responsibilities.
In 1990, they built a new winery and underground barrel cellar. The use of oak is well thought-out. Gérard does not like a dominant oak flavor, but recognizes that oak is needed to bring out the secondary aromas of the terroir.
