The Character
Tasting Notes The wine offers richer dark fruit character with a tobacco and cocoa powder that is often associated with Rutherford Dust. It is full bodied wine with a well integrated tannin structure and a ripe balanced structure that lasts through the elegant finish. Young though approachable, the wine will continue to develop offer the next several years to a decade.
The Story
Georges III Vineyard is one of the oldest and most storied vineyards in alll of Napa Valley. Planted in 1895 by Mrs. Thomas Rutherford, the 300-acre parcel was first purchased by Georges de Latour in 1928. It was the home of the greats Rutherford Cabernets made by the famous Andre Tcheslistcheff for Beaulieu Winery. Since 1988 the vineyard has been owned by the Beckstoffer Family.

Krutz Family Cellars was founded in summer of 2003 when Patrick Krutz produced sixty cases of wine. The idea was to purchase grapes in order to produce a small amount of wine for family and friends. However, demand soon changed that plan and Krutz Family Cellars continues to grow.
