About L'Aventure Winery

Producer Story

Stephan Asseo is owner and winemaker of L’Aventure Winery which is known for red blends. Having made wine in Saint-Emilion for 17 years, he left France in search of a terroir that fit his high standards but allowed him the freedom to make wines without restrictions. He fell in love with a 127-acre property in the westside Willow Creek district of Paso Robles. Our diverse topography and maritime influence allow for warm days and cool nights that help balance alcohol and acidity while providing depth, finesse, and complexity in our wines. Stephan’s philosophy of winemaking stems from a production-driven mentality which focuses on dense planting, low yield, and high-quality fruit. He came to Paso Robles with the belief that the wines should reflect the vintage and the terroir of Paso Robles.
