Santa Barbara, CA & Los Angeles, CA – July 1, 2025

Santa Barbara County’s historic Gainey Estate Vineyards has partnered with leading distributor Serendipity Wines for representation in the California market, effective July 8, 2025.

Founded in Texas in 2003, Serendipity Wines is a trusted distributor and national importer of premium wines and spirits, dedicated to delivering exceptional service. For over two decades, Serendipity Wines has built strong relationships with family-owned producers who share a commitment to quality, authenticity, and sustainability. Their expertly curated global portfolio is delivered through a foundation of education, service, and meaningful connection. With over 14 years of consistent growth and a seasoned team of professionals, they are highly regarded in the wine industry for their integrity, responsiveness, and results.

The Gainey Estate Vineyards story in the Santa Ynez Valley begins more than 60 years ago when the Gainey Family acquired 1,800 acres of undeveloped land, where they ran cattle and horses while growing 600 acres of fruit, vegetables, flowers, and hay. In 1984, after years of travel and appreciation of European wines, the Gainey family saw a similar potential in Santa Barbara County as a world-class growing region and developed fifty acres of Estate vineyards, planting Bordeaux varietals and other grape varieties in the Santa Ynez Valley and the Gainey Estate Vineyards were born.

In 1997, Dan Gainey, the 3rd Generation to run the business, acquired and developed the Evan’s Ranch Vineyard in the western Santa Ynez Valley, with the planting of fifty-four acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, several years ahead of what was to become the most exciting cold-climate-growing region in California, the Sta. Rita Hills. He further added to their Sta. Rita Hills’ holdings in 2009 with the planting of forty-four acres of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at Rancho Esperanza Vineyard.

With over sixty years of farming and winemaking expertise that has been honed and developed over decades, and Estate vineyards in the cold climate Sta. Rita Hills and cool climate Santa Ynez Valley, Gainey produces a high-quality and wide range of varietals at different prices.  With over 41 years of winemaking experience, Gainey delivers both incredible value for restaurants by-the-glass and premium wines sold through their tasting rooms in Santa Ynez and Los Olivos.

“Family-owned growers and producers such as Gainey Estate Vineyards have been the backbone of Serendipity’s fine wine-focused portfolio from our inception more than two decades ago,” said Seth Fagelman, Serendipity Wine’s President and CEO. “This partnership allows us to continue to scale our business in California while maintaining our commitment to authenticity, quality, and enduring relationships.”

We are thrilled to be represented by Serendipity in California,” says Dan Gainey.  “Their dedication to championing family-owned, family-operated and estate-driven wineries appeals to me greatly as we celebrate our 41 years of producing wines from the land that we love.”
