The Story

Viña Alberdi is one of the most beloved wines of La Rioja Alta, S.A., known for its approachable style, vibrant fruit, and outstanding quality. It is crafted entirely from Tempranillo grapes grown in the winery’s own vineyards in the Rioja Alta subregion.

The wine was created to offer a more accessible and versatile Rioja, without sacrificing the elegance and aging potential that define the house style. Aged in American oak barrels made by the winery’s own cooperage, Viña Alberdi displays the perfect balance between ripe red fruit and the soft, toasty notes of oak.

It is often considered the entry point to the world of La Rioja Alta, S.A. wines, combining tradition with a more modern, expressive character. Its consistent quality, food-friendliness, and authenticity have made it a favorite among both wine lovers and professionals around the world.

Vina Alberdi was a wine name created in 1974 to replace the old "Tercer Ano" and named after Nicolás Alberdi who was president of La Rioja Alta S.A.
