Full bodied and delicious, the enveloping palate doles out mouthfuls of cherry marinated in spirits, crushed raspberry, licorice and hints of seasoned meats alongside velvety tannins. It's concentrated but also boasts an almost weightless elegance.

Pairings Roast and grilled meats, aged cheese, pasta

The Story

Podere le Ripi only makes 'single vineyard' wines. This is the Cielo d'Ulisse (sky of Ulysses) vineyard, the newest vineyard for the winery. This vineyard is located in the far western part of the commune, the hills here are not as high and the vineyards experience more coastal influences from the Mediterranean sea. This is considered the "entry level" Brunello from the winery, but nothing from Podere le Ripi is really "entry level."

About Podere le Ripi

Producer Story

The estate has been called Podere Le Ripi since the year 1200 when the area was inhabited by shepherds and farmers. In 1997, I bought these 54 hectares
of pure, unspoilt and wild land from a Sardinian shepherd and three years later began planting the first vines. In fact, I had just wanted to buy a lovely house in
Tuscany but I fell in love so deeply with this untouched landscape that I became a wine-grower.
