Mouthfeel Delicious, sophisticated and tailored tannin profile.
Tasting Notes Our Rockpile Cabernet is beautifully detailed on the nose, with perfumed notes of black cherries, dried violets, loganberry, dusty iron red earth, shaved cocoa bean, woodsmoke, coastal dried underbrush and anise. Its vibrant and energetic entry leads to the expected full-bodied expression of a Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon. This vintage is also defined by a delicious, sophisticated and tailored tannin profile, concluding in a superb multi-layered finish with a candied fruit element that’s seductive and even more rewarding with aeration. Enjoy it over the next 15+ years.

About Mauritson Wines
Producer Story
The Mauritson family has been growing grapes in the Dry Creek Valley since 1868 when their great-great-great grandfather first planted vines in what is now the Rockpile appellation. Clay Mauritson was determined to add winemaking to the family business and released the inaugural Mauritson Wines vintage in 1998. Today, the family still manages many acres of vineyards across Sonoma County. They produce boutique wines, using only select vineyards that truly exhibit a sense of place.
