Tasting Notes Pale gold in hue, the cuvée reveals an initial brioche nose, slightly toasted with aromas of ripe yellow fruit such as mirabelle plum, then on aeration elegant raspberry aromas. As the wine develops, a few light notes of cedar wood appear. A certain minerality and salinity sublimate a beautiful structure and a lot of freshness in the mouth. The finish is persistent, long, with a slight hint of grapefruit zest.

Awards 93pts Decanter

The Story

In 2021, the House pays a new tribute to one of its founders with the launch of Cuvée V Millésime 2012, combining the history of the House and the know-how of Laurent Fédou.
During the 2012 harvest, Laurent Fédou, the Cellar Master of the House, was charmed by the quality and character of certain terroirs of Pinots Noirs and Pinots Meuniers.
He therefore imagined an outstanding wine, emblematic of the history of Canard-Duchêne House.

About Champagne Canard-Duchene

Brand Story

In 1859 winemaker Léonie Duchêne met and married barrel maker Victor Canard. They decided to combine their last names and produce their own unique Champagne, based on the Pinot Noir grapes they grew in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. They released their first bottling of Champagne eight years later, in 1868, to rave reviews. Léonie was among the first female winemakers in the Champagne region, and to this day Canard-Duchêne is one of the few Champagne houses still family owned. Winemaker Laurent Fédou describes the house style as “very lively, youthful and balanced with freshness and bright acidity”.
