Tasting Notes The NeroBaronj seduces with its zesty display of crushed cherries, sweet exotic spices and dried roses. This is soft and round in feel, offset by bright acids and tart wild berry fruits, which creates a sweet and sour impression toward the close. Energy remains high, even as chalky mineral notes and wild herbs come forward; yet the end note here is, without a doubt, a lasting echo of vivid citrus-tinged blackberry. The NeroBaronj, a varietal Nero d'Avola, is a crowd-pleaser.

One of the four Contrada (Grand Cru Vineyards) of Gulfi. The NeroBaronj vineyard has black clay for soil. These vineyards are down the hill from the town of Avola, and it is here where Nero d'Avola originated.
