The Story

We source the fruit for this Chardonnay from Bazzano Vineyard, located two miles east of our Olivet Lane Estate, along Mark West Creek near the town of Fulton. These hearty Old Wente clone vines are dry-farmed, thanks to the heavy clay soils in which they reside, lending great depth of fruit character. Hot afternoons are mitigated by a vigorous canopy, allowing for precise acid retention and bright fruit tones.

About Pellegrini

Producer Story

Family owned for four generations, Pellegrini Wine Company is located in the Russian River Valley. The Pellegrini family name has been associated with every tier of the wine business since the early part of the 20th Century, from grape sellers to wholesale wine distribution. In 1973, the Pellegrinis purchased a 70-acre apple, plum & olive orchard on West Olivet Road. They planted Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, developing one of the region’s first vineyards devoted exclusively to these two varieties— the Olivet Lane Vineyard. It was one of the first Pinot Noir estates in the Russian River Valley, and over the years has been the grape source for many of the Valley’s Pinot Noir luminaries, in addition to the family’s own award-winning Olivet Lane Vineyard Chardonnay & Pinot Noir.
