Tasting Notes Tart cherry and raspberry, iron, crushed rocks, and pepper aromas show on the enticing and bold nose. The palate is loaded with classic flavors of cool climate Syrah: dried herbs, lavender, tart black cherry and plum flavors, finishing with a pinch of white pepper. This Syrah is dark and intense, with juicy acidity and a bit of grip, a perfect match for the bold flavors of grilled or roasted meats and vegetables.

The Story

Donnachadh is an organically farmed vineyard in the heart of the Santa Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County. The property was planted with vines in 2013, the culmination of a dream for owners Drew and Laurie Duncan. The 2018 Estate Syrah is made from a well-balanced blend of Alban clone grapes from the sandy Riverside block of the vineyard and 470 clone Syrah from vines high up in the Hillside block

After an expansive search they found 285 acre gem in 2013, and planted 40 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah with some Gamay & Grenache.
