The Story
Paladin was founded by Valentino Paladin in 1962, near Treviso in Motta di Livenza. He moved soon after to Annone Veneto, a historic village on the ancient Roman road Postumia. Valentino discovered his passion for winemaking as a child following his grandfather around a cellar, and passed that on to his family who now operate under a third generation. Valentino's granddaughter Francesca now runs operations with the same passion and dedication. We've seen sparkling rosé from Veneto blossom into a legitimate category of wine; with the creation of a DOC appellation, Paladin has been galvanized to create something worthy of the name Prosecco. Heart and Soul are poured in equal measures. Low yields (135 tons/ha for Pinot Nero and 150 tons/ha for Glera) in order to have higher intensity of color and aromas. The Pinot Nero is harvested two weeks before the Glera to enhance the acidity and fragrance of the grape.
